Classroom Notes

Greetings,

We have had another busy week in Room 20!  Reed College Science taught a lesson on magnatism.  Our Outdoor Classroom Project is now focusing on adaptions.  For our Road Trip USA Project, kids are rollin’ along with creating Google Slide presentations to share the data that they collected about their chosen state.  We have been talking about how geographers make choices about what gets included as well as about design elements for digital presentations. Our state locations and capitals study continues this week with the Northeast states quiz on Friday.  Here’s the link for the States and Capitals page on our blog.

Bonneville Dam and Fish Hatchery Field Trip: Our trip is next Monday, October 27th.  We will board the bus promptly at 8:50 a.m.  A good portion of our trip will be outside.  Please be sure that your kid is prepared for whatever out-of-door elements come our way with warm clothing, a raincoat, and walking shoes.  Thank you in advance to the many volunteers who will join us.  It sounds like the bus will be quite crowded, so please be prepared to carpool or go on your own if the bus is overcrowded.  I will share more info with volunteers toward the end of this week.  Kids, remember to wear your Team 20 t-shirt!

Parent-Teacher Conferences: Thank you for signing up for conferences.  The kids are working very hard, and I am looking forward to our talk together about all the fine things your child has accomplished!  A green conference time reminder slip is included in the front pocket of your kid’s binder.

Picture Retakes: A retake day will be available on November 19th.  This includes kids who were absent on Picture Day.

Please follow us on Twitter @LewisRoom20 and at LewisRoom20.blogspot.com for regular updates and photos!

Thanks,

Mark
