Classroom Notes

Greetings!

Team 20 had another busy and productive week!  Kids shared their winter vacation essays today.  In social studies, kids are continuing to work in small groups, learning about the early colonization of North America through a simulation.  Kids are also reading current events at newsela.com and practicing typing at lewis.typingclub.com. A few Lewis School reminders and updates…


A pasta fundraising dinner for our fifth grade science camp is scheduled for Friday, January 23 at 6:00 p.m. in the Lewis cafeteria. A volunteer sign up is posted outside of room 21.  Feel free to email me if you would like to sign up to volunteer and cannot sign up in person.  I will connect you with Alice Lewis who is coordinating the sign up.  Here’s more info: goo.gl/ho0Tlx


Team 20’s drama performance led by Michael Wehrli will be on Thursday, February 5th.  On that day, all kids will need to be at Lewis at 6:00 p.m. for the 6:30 p.m. performance.  There will also be an in-school performance at 10:00 a.m. on the 5th.  Everyone is welcome!  Here's more info: goo.gl/qrPt2V


Ms. Tori had to change some dates for this spring's Drama Club.  There is an informational meeting on Monday, January 26th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the cafeteria for kids who are interested in this year’s Drama Club production of “The Three Sillies.”  Auditions will be held on Wednesday, January 28th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.  Here's all of the information, including the new performance date for the Lewis School Play: goo.gl/e9UNgq


On Friday, February 20th, the Lonesome Teacher Trio plays for the Lewis Family Dance starting at 6:30 p.m.  This is a fundraiser for Science Camp.


Also…does anyone have any digital cameras that they no longer use and would like to donate to room 20 for use by kids?
