Classroom Notes

We had another productive week in room 20.  As always, you can find photos from our week on our blog.  Here are photos from last week: bit.ly/team20-photos-24.

Team 20 has been making signs to advertise for the Lewis Food Drive to benefit the Oregon Food Bank, which runs from March 2nd to March 6th.  We teamed up with our buddies in Mrs. Logue’s first grade on Tuesday to make posters for the hallway.  Here is more information about the food drive: bit.ly/PSW-info.

Having created a portfolio of photo stories, kids chose their best rough draft and revised it independently and with a teammate using the revising checklist we created as a team.

Test tubes were filled with starch, iodine, and saliva as kids continued learning about the systems of the human body by exploring digestion and breaking down starch during Reed Science.  Kids were also out in the garden for Outdoor Classroom with Kathleen.

Thank you to the Lonesome Teacher Trio and to Lewis families for putting on the Lewis Family Dance.  Proceeds will help to fund fifth grade science camp.  Thank you, also, to the Multnomah Education Service District for vision screenings.

Lastly, Monday is Read Across America.  We will be celebrating this event from 2:30 to 3:00 in room 20.  Feel free to stop by and join us.
