Photos From Our Week

Our tour of Reed College took us to the fish and frog labs in the biology building, the nuclear reactor, some chemistry lab demonstrations, a dorm room, and a couple of bridges over Reed Canyon, including one that bounced.

Kids are conferencing with one another on their plans and beginning to write science camp essay rough drafts on their Chromebooks.

Practicing equivalent fractions during math

Making thaumatropes, our last piece for Lewis Art Night on Thursday, May 7th, at 6:00.  Here's how we made our thaumatropes and a video of the thaumatropes we made.  As in years past, Team 20 kids will serve as docents at our display.  They will stand outside of room 20 and tell guests about our artwork.  Kids will have 15 minutes shifts, so they will have plenty of time to enjoy the rest of Art Night, including their own music performances.  A copy of the docent schedule went home with kids on Friday, May 1st, on a sheet of yellow paper.

Practicing typing, Spanish, and coding.

The Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium's math test and the OAKS science test consumed two of our mornings this week.  Once again, kids were serious and focused.  The English language performance task, will be carried out over multiple days toward the end of the month.

A big thank you to the Lewis PTA for the many teacher appreciation week treats and scrumptious luncheon.
