Classroom Notes

Team 20 has had another very productive and busy week.  Kids have been making book trailers during media class with Ms. Cyndi for some of the over 350 new books that were recently added to our Lewis library.  Kids chose a book, watched example trailers, wrote a script, collected pictures, created a storyboard, and then made a video using WeVideo.  Team 20’s finished book trailers will be shared with primary students at Lewis to spark their interest in reading these books.

Kids have been researching native plants for Lewis’s butterfly garden with Ms. Kathleen.  They are truckin’ along on reply letters to our pen pals in Madison, Wisconsin and have been practicing fractions and division during math.  For read aloud, we are reading The Magician’s Elephant by Kate DiCamillo

Report cards are in today’s THF.  Please sign and return your kid’s report card envelope by the following Monday.

Lastly, Reed Science resumes tomorrow.  During Reed Science, three Reed College students take the lead in teaching the kids of Team 20 through a variety of hands on, inquiry-based experiences in science.  If you would like to volunteer during Reed Science on Thursday afternoons from 1:45 to 2:45, you are more than welcome.  Please send me an email (mrichner@pps.net) or drop me a note.

Please follow us on Twitter @LewisRoom20 and at LewisRoom20.blogspot.com for photos and regular updates!
